The Southern Tablelands Farm Forestry Network (STFFN) Inc is an incorported association and is one of several Private Forestry Development Committees in NSW that are put in place to support private landholders in their farm forestry pursuits.

Since 1996 STFFN has provided a number of free extension services to landholders in the Southern Tablelands on issues such as commercial pine growing, plantation with natives and private native forestry.

STFFN has over 790 members most of whom are landholders but also includes representatives from industry and other organisations.

STFFN is an independent incorporated and not-for-profit association drawing funds from a range of sources including the Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries & Forestry, and the NSW Department of Primary Industries.

STFFN can help if you are interested in farm forestry. There are a number of activities STFFN is involved in to assist landholders interested in farm forestry, including:

• maintaining a network of farm foresters and landholders interested in planting trees and managing forests for profit;

• providing on-ground advice and support to landholders;

• providing a link to private forest growers and markets;

• holding regular field days and events;

• coordinating training activities;

• resolving issues of concern about farm forestry;

• coordinating activities such as the sale of seedlings, site preparation and plantation management;

• keeping STFFN members up to date with the latest in farm forestry technology through the STFFN newsletter (free to members); and

• establishing and monitoring farm forestry demonstration sites.
