The Southern Tablelands Farm Forestry Network
(STFFN) Inc is an incorported association and is one of several
Private Forestry Development Committees in NSW that are put in place
to support private landholders in their farm forestry pursuits.
Since 1996 STFFN has provided a number of
free extension services to landholders in the Southern Tablelands
on issues such as commercial pine growing, plantation with natives
and private native forestry.
STFFN has over 790 members most of whom are
landholders but also includes representatives from industry and
other organisations.
STFFN is an independent incorporated and
not-for-profit association drawing funds from a range of sources
including the Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries
& Forestry, and the NSW Department of Primary Industries.

are interested in farm forestry. There are a number of activities
STFFN is involved in to assist landholders interested in farm
forestry, including:
• maintaining a network of farm
foresters and landholders interested in planting trees and
managing forests for profit;
• providing on-ground advice and support to landholders;
• providing a link to private forest growers and markets;
• holding regular field days and events;
• coordinating training activities;
• resolving issues of concern about farm forestry;
• coordinating activities such as the sale of seedlings,
site preparation and plantation management;
• keeping STFFN members up to date with the latest in
farm forestry technology through the STFFN newsletter (free
to members); and
• establishing and monitoring farm forestry demonstration
sites.
